Facials are probably the most sought after spa treatment. As with most other beauty and health matters, facials help prevent and treat common problems. Take the fall season, for example, when you turn the heat on for the first time in October, you might notice a change in your skin. Inside heat can dehydrate skin and facials can drastically correct a lack of moisture. And every April
when the weather warms up a bit, skin can get oilier and create breakouts. Facials can help with these and many other skin ailments.
For your at home facial first you must cleanse and exfoliate your face, we’re sure you know how to do this but for the best results take a look at our insights into the facial cleansing brush.
You will then need to boil a small pot of water on the stove. Turn off the heat and stand over the pot with a towel draped over your head, so that the steam coming from the water will be trapped around your face. Steam your face for five minutes or so, making sure to come up for air when you need to.
Steaming helps to open your pores in preparation for a facial mask, which draws out impurities. For a more luxurious experience, add some essential oils to the water. You’ll get a steam and aromatherapy treatment in one. Try a few drops of lavender, lemongrass, rose, or grapefruit essential oil to lift your spirits. If you don’t have essential oils, throw a few herbal tea bags into the water. Chamomile, chai and peppermint tea all have aromatic herbs.
Next up is a facial mask, which will draw out impurities (like dirt and dead skin) from your pores. We’ve chosen Skin Republic’s Caviar and CoQ10 Face Mask. This hydrating sheet mask treatment provides a deep level of repair to help moisturise, protect and revitalise your skin.
It delivers nutrients and intense moisture, the treatment is dedicated to rejuvenating and hydrating your complexion. By combining Caviar with CoQ10 and Witch Hazel, the serum mask expertly enhances skin elasticity whilst hydrating, protecting and reducing redness.
The final step is to apply a thick creamy moisturiser (or whichever moisturiser you usually use). Moisturiser will keep your skin from drying out, preserving the results of your facial, so it’s very important you don’t skip over this step! Now your facial is complete. Wait a minimum of 12 hours before applying makeup to the face to give your facial skin the chance to rest and reap the full benefits of your facial. Makeup normally contains alcohol and a wide range of chemicals, and applying it right after exfoliating your face and cleaning your pores could cause irritation.

While manicures are already one of the cheapest treatments to get, we’ve still managed to beat the average price. On top of the lesser price our recommended manicure kit will also last you for a very minimum of 5 manicures so it really is a win win kit.
The first step to your at home manicure is to take the emery board (also known as a nail file) and shape up the edges of your nails using long sweeping movements, to create a smooth and even
look. If your nails are already shaped from previous manicures then they will just need neatening up – however if the shapes are all odd then decide on which shape you’d like and file all the nails down to the shortest nails length. This ensures that your nails grow relatively the same length overall.
Next fill a bowl with warm water. Soak your fingers for around 5-10 minutes in the water. Add a few drops of essential oil to the water to get the benefits of aromatherapy as you soak your nails. Don’t be in a rush – you want those cuticles to get nice and soft. Gently pat your fingers dry, and proceed gently massaging the cuticle oil into your cuticles, however don’t let it rub in completely.
Use the cuticle stick to gently push back your cuticles. Angle the stick so that you gently push your cuticles toward the base of your nails, a little at a time. Don’t push too hard or scrape your nails, as this may damage your cuticles and hurt the base of your finger nails. If you’re having trouble pushing the cuticles back, soak them for awhile longer to soften them up and simply repeat the previous step. Rinse your hands with soap and warm water, you may even want to add a little salt or sugar to the soap to help exfoliate your hands properly.
Now it’s time to layer on your favourite nail polish – or even just a clear coat if you’re going for a more natural look. After waiting for your nails to completely dry (try holding them under icy water
to speed things up), generously coat the hand moisturiser all over the hands. Deeply massage your hands, applying more pressure to the parts near your main joints to relieve pressure. Instead of wiping away any excess moisturiser, pop on the cotton moisture gloves and keep them on for anything from 20 minutes to overnight – it’s completely up to you.

So similar to the manicure kit – initially you only save a few pounds by switching to home treatments, however the at home pedicure kit is set to last you as long as you need it to, if of course you look after it properly and clean it regularly.
To start your pedicure, first soak your feet in warm water infused with essential oils to soften them up. This needs to be done because going to work on feet that hasn’t been softened can cause breaks in the skin and you may end up doing more damage than good. After around 15/20 minutes of soaking, use the MICRO Pedi Device to gently buff away dry and hard skin, focusing primarily on the heel and forefoot areas. As required switch to the smaller micro-mineral precision rollers specially designed for buffing and softening the hard to reach skin in between and under toes.
Once you have given each foot a full rub down, gently wash away any excess skin particles that have been left behind and pat dry. Place the toe separators on to your feet and trim down your nails (if needed) and file them out using long smooth strokes of the nail file to give them a clean natural look. Now take your favourite colour nail polish or just a simple clear coat and give them a few licks of paint.
Finally when your nails have dried completely, gently massage the coconut extract ultra-finishing cream into your skin to keep your feet looking and feeling soft and smooth.

Teeth whitening is a tricky one, but we know we’ve got it beat! Some beauty salons have teeth whitening services that appear relatively cheap, possibly at 60 pounds, but you can be looking to pay over a thousand pounds depending on what type of treatment you’re after. The prices can vary from beauty salons, dentists and private clinics but our selected at home kit is the best we’ve seen so far!
The kit gives you the opportunity to whiten your teeth 5 times, whether this is consecutive days or spread throughout the month. The process is incredibly easy, simply start by brushing the teeth gently before application, making sure your hands are dry and clean. Remove the pre-filled tray from the sealed sachet and immediately place the tray in your mouth ensuring the gel is in contact with the tooth surface.
The tray is designed to whiten both the back & front of the teeth. This is important as teeth are translucent and stains on the back can show through the front. It is easy to wear and use, the one size fits all trays are soft and flexible. Upper and lower teeth can be whitened at the same time if preferred. Gently close your lips over the tray and carefully close your mouth. However please remember biting too hard can cause excess gel to ooze out of the tray and away from the teeth.
Remove the tray after 20 minutes and discard immediately. Rinse away with water, the remaining gel from your teeth and gums. iWhite gives instant whitening and actively removes stains, thanks to the unique film crystallised technology, this innovative one step whitening system provides an immediate natural whitening effect. The ideal at home teeth whitening kit.
